PAOLO ULIAN


He trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Carrara and subsequently graduated from the ISIA in Florence.
At the end of 1990 he moved to Milan where he began working as an assistant in Enzo Mari’s studio.
In 2000 he exhibited at the Salone Satellite and won first prize at the first edition of the Design Report Award.
In 2009, Beppe Finessi curated his first solo exhibition at the Fabbrica del Vapore in Milan and the following year his second solo exhibition entitled “Tra gioco e discarica” ​​was hosted at the Triennale di Milano, this time curated by Enzo Mari.
In 2011 he won the Social design Prize promoted by ADI and in 2013 he participated in the VI edition of the Triennale Design Museum with an installation dedicated to Vico Magistretti.
Since 2014, he has organized the annual exhibitions at the Magistretti Foundation in Milan.

In parallel with his work as a designer he has carried out teaching activities at numerous universities and design schools.

He has collaborated with Droog Design and with some Italian companies such as Driade, Fontana Arte, Danese, Zani&Zani, Azzurra Ceramiche, Up Group, Zava Illuminazione, Kreoo and Antonio Lupi. Some of his projects have entered the permanent collection of the Triennale Design Museum, the London Design Museum and the Montreal Museum of Fine Art.
